Plan to scale

Living room floor plan: see if it all fits before you move a thing

A new sofa, a piano to fit in, a room to rearrange: on a plan drawn to scale, you try ten layouts without lifting anything.

Give the width and depth of the living room, set the door and the windows, then slide the furniture in. Each piece takes the measurements you type.

How do I draw a floor plan of my living room? Measure the living room, place the big pieces first, then check the walkways.

How to do it

  1. Measure the living room

From wall to wall, on the inside. Note where the door and the windows are too.

  2. Place the big pieces first

The sofa, the TV stand, the bookcase. Type in their real measurements.

  3. Check the walkways

Select a piece: the distance to each wall shows up.

What you can place in it

Each item comes at a common size. You type in yours.

Frequently asked questions

My sofa is not the size suggested. What do I do?
