Plan to scale

Kitchen floor plan: counters, island and appliances to scale

Before you meet a kitchen designer or order an island, draw the room as it is: you quickly see what works and what gets in the way.

Counters, island and appliances come at common sizes. Type in yours, then look at the space left to move around and open the doors.

How do I draw a floor plan of my kitchen? Measure the kitchen, place the counters and appliances, then try the island.

Frequently asked questions

Does this plan replace a kitchen designer’s?

No. It helps you prepare the meeting, compare layouts and check that everything fits. Cabinets, plumbing and wiring call for a professional’s plan.

Can I draw an L-shaped or U-shaped kitchen?
