How it is calculated
One inch is exactly 2.54 cm and one foot 30.48 cm. One square foot is 0.092903 m²; one square metre is 10.764 square feet.
Metres are returned in feet and inches rounded to the nearest eighth of an inch, the precision of an ordinary tape measure.
In Planimonde, a plan switches units with one click: you measure in feet, your contractor reads in metres, the areas follow.
