Insulation plan, to scale
The wall cavities to insulate and the quantities of insulation.
The plan opens on "Wall to insulate", a 3.66 m (12' 0") by 2.44 m (8' 0") rectangle (8.93 m² (96 sq ft)) that you correct to your own measurements. Already in place: 2 × bottom or top plate, row of studs at 16 in., 4 × insulation batt, vapour barrier.
No account needed, right away.
How to use it
- The outline is the wall seen from the front: give it its real width and height before placing anything.
- Place the framing, then an insulation batt in each cavity.
- Count the batts in the plan sheet to know how many bundles to buy.
- Cover the warm side with a continuous vapour barrier, joints sealed.
What Planimonde calculates for this plan
- The length of each side, written along the line and corrected with one click.
- The area of each closed outline and of each zone you mark out.
- Wall thickness: your measurements apply to the inside, the outside or the centre line, as you choose.
- The closing gap when on-site measurements contradict each other, and where it lies.
- The clearance to leave in front of each item, to suggest other layouts without overlap.
- The scale of the PDF, with a reference bar to check with a ruler once the page is printed.
